How do I disable Pop-up blockers?

All pop-up blockers need to either be turned off or set to allow from www.techno-media.com. Some typical sources of pop-up blockers include:

Internet Explorer: Internet Explorer's built in pop-up blocker can be disabled as shown below

Yahoo or Google Toolbars: If you have yahoo toolbar you can disable your pop-up blocker as shown below

Why is there a slow response and what do I do?

Some common causes are increased network traffic and/or insufficient bandwidth to view multimedia content. Please verify that your connection meets the specifications listed in the minimum system requirements or contact your system administrator for more details.

What does “Session time-out error” mean?

In any kind of test or quiz, the session logged into has a pre-set session time out. If no action is performed in this session within that certain time, you will be automatically logged out. If the “Session time out” message appears than go back to the home page and login again, and you can retake the test or quiz you were taking before the session timed out. Additionally, session time outs can occur of the Internet connection was "dropped" while the test was being taken.

Why does a quiz submittal failure occur and what do I do?

Internet connection failure:
An unreliable internet connection increases the chance that you may have to retake a quiz should the connection fail while you are taking it, so ensure that your internet connection is reliable before taking the quiz. You can do this by contacting your system administrator or you can check on how the present connection is performing (you cannot check reliability this way) through these steps:

  • For Windows Vista
    1. Click on the start button in the left-hand corner
    2. Click on “Networks”
    3. Click on “Network and Sharing Center”
  • For Windows XP
    1. Click on the start button in the left-hand corner
    2. Click on “Control Panel”
    3. Click on “Network Connections”

Why can't I install the required plug-ins?

There are several possible reasons that would cause you to not be able to download download and install the required plug-ins.

  • No Internet connection
  • No administrator rights to install software
For this problem, contact your system administrator for the best solution.

Why don't I have audio?

First, confirm that you have downloaded and installed all of the necessary plugins required to view the content.

Local firewall settings, which are set up by the system administrator, may disallow MP3s. Courses generally use MP3 format for audio. If no sound is heard, check the firewall settings. Or if you are part of a corporate network, contact the network administrator to ensure that MP3 audio is allowed from www.techno-media.com.

How do I disable the Active content warning bar?

To temporarily allow the active content warning bar: Click and select “Allow active content”. The following instructions apply to Microsoft XP users:

To permanently remove active content warning bar: From internet explorer:

  1. Click on “tools”
  2. Select “internet options”
  3. Click on the “Advanced” tab
  4. Scroll down to “Active X”

What is local content/thin-client?

This solution addresses typical issues due to low bandwidth such as the program’s sluggishness or interrupted viewing. This deployment strategy has been particularly useful for our clients to deliver media-rich content when training personnel at remote work sites such as off-shore rigs or anywhere that there is poor connectivity. This option requires additional configuration on the client computer and/or network.

How do I print my certificate?

After a course has been completed and the assessment passed, refer to the status page, where you will find the title of the course, along with your passing percentage and, importantly, an icon to the left of the course title, showing that a certificate has been awarded. From this point, the certificate can be printed out.

What is the difference between a course and a reference?

A reference, as opposed to a course, includes graphs, charts, instruction manuals for equipment, added by the system administrator.

What do I do if I can’t log in?

If you enter what you believe to be your password, and the system denies it, or you have forgotten your password, then click the link Forgot your password? And you can have your password e-mailed to you. If you do not have an email address, then the Forgot your password link will allow you to reset your password to your DOB (mmddyyyy).
